A delicate necklace with a roller printed oval pendant accented with a freshwater pearl and sapphires.

A substantial necklace, this piece was a custom order for the daughter of one of my favourite people. I am glad it is going to a good home because I really, really liked it when it was done! chalcedony, kyanite, amazonite, turquoise, fw pearl, adventurine and swarovski crystal.

First Snow

Luckily we got the new snow tires on mum's car on sunday. Oh boy did we get snow. Of course what we didn't get were shovels or salt. Last night, after Chase got home from work, we walked to Canadian Tire to get shovels as our driveway had completely disappeared. Still don't have the salt but the temperatures over the next couple of days seem to be mild enough to keep the walkways wet instead of icy. A semblance of Christmasy feeling is stirring in here somewhere. Maybe tomorrow I will make gingerbread. If there is time before I go to work.

Thanksgiving

Here is the chocolate pumpkin cake I made for Thanks giving Dinner. The recipe is from last years Country Living magazine.
Dinner went really well. Especially considering there were nine adults and two kids - I've never planned for that many before! I've never cooked that big a turkey before either. Note for next year: Thaw the turkey in time......

Fall Afternoon

I went today and picked fall foliage to decorate with. The branches are something I've not seen before - anybody out there know what they are? The small rosehips look perfect in the pewter vase.
