Saturdays Cake
Yesterday was my last cake decorating class until I can take Course 2 in the fall. This one is vanilla with pistachio mousse filling.
I wanted something really colourful without being too 'out of the crayon box' so I took my inspiration for the colour scheme from this packaging: Window Box from Crabtree & Evelyn. It worked really well I think.

For Kim - Wheat free granola
Wheat-Free Granola
1 1/2 cups oats
1/2 cup instant quinoa
1 cup natural rice crisps/puffed rice
1/4 cup flax seeds
1/4 cup raw sesame seeds
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
4-5 tbsp honey
Combine all dry ingredients. Drizzle honey over one spoonful at a time, stirring to coat. There is not enough honey to completely coat everything, you will have a variety of clumps and some dry mixture. Toast on a cookie sheet, stirring frequently in a 275* oven about 25 mins. Cool before putting in an airtight container.
now at the time it srtuck my that a bit more liquid might be nice. Perhaps a mixture of warm water and maple syrup..around 1/3 cups worth. Have to try this one again!

Donuts!
You Are a Boston Creme Donut |
You have a tough exterior. No one wants to mess with you. But on the inside, you're a total pushover and completely soft. You're a traditionalist, and you don't change easily. You're likely to eat the same doughnut every morning, and pout if it's sold out. |
Sunday Jewellery Sale
My jewellery sale was this Sunday. Turnout was okay although I was competeing against some brilliant weather. After a dreary week who can blame them for not wanting to be inside? The day got me really thinking about what to do to kick start things again. I put some new pieces in the Etsy shop and removed those that sold this weekend. The Calm Blue bracelet is a popular one so keep your eyes open for variations on that theme. Next step: business cards with this blog address and the Etsy shop address. AGNS must be getting low on stock so I need to replenish them and find one other store to take my work. One step at a time right?
Here are the Fruit Tarts from sunday....

Arrangements while in Halifax
Heya everyone. I've done a bit of research and here are some suggestions for staying in Halifax over night during the month of August for the wedding. As it will be peak summer season making reservations asap is recommended. These are almost all Downtown hotels so will be slightly more expensive than several of the hotels/motels on the outskirts of the city, Bedford Highway and in Dartmouth. If arrangements are going to be a problem for anyone please feel free to contact us Via this Blog for Tam, our home number 902 422 2339 or trevor.chaisson@gmail.com.
